An RGE fridge uses electricity for its energy source as a standard fridge. If the electricity goes out you can switch this freestanding appliance to LP gas and it will continue to cool and freeze. These models are popular for areas that have hurricanes or heavy snow that knocks out power lines often. Saving the food in your home during a time of need will save an incredible amount of money over having to replace every food item that you store in an appliance. The most common formation is the freezer on top and the fridge on bottom style.
You may purchase freestanding fridge appliances with the handles on the left or right side according to your preference. Sometimes the handles are more convenient on one side or the other due to placement by counters and cabinets.
